C.J. Garden Designs and Broxton and Moruzzi Landscapes together designed and built a show garden at the RHS SHow Cardiff in April 2010. The garden was awarded a silver gilt medal. Click HERE to see the garden on the RHS website.
The show garden was designed to be a comfortable and pleasing space for a late middle aged or retired couple who would like to spend time in their garden without having to do too much mainentance. They are interested in recycling as well as having some interesting features in the garden.
To this end a sleeper wall was built providing both screening and a raised bed,. Glass panels in the sleepers and amongst the planting, and an unusual glass water feature provided interest. There was a variety of shrubs, perennials, grasses and ferns, with a timberglobe sitting amoung the planting for further interest. The whole garden was mulched with recycled rubber tyres from Dunweedin' in a variety of colours.
Brett Paving donated the paving for the garden and Dunweedin the recycled rubber mulch. Local craftsman, Robin Harry of Light Kiln Glass designed the glass panels and a glass water feature.
The plan has been designed and drawn using Vectorworks, which is a sophisticated drawing package. Caroline had support from Tamsin Slatter of Vectorworks training throughout the project. Please click here to see Tamsins blog about the show garden.
